Market Report for Feb 23 2021

Most times success in the market can be attributed to doing nothing. So many are tempted to always buy and sell.

Market Trend:

Market YTD:
Russell 2000 +14.0% YTD
Nasdaq Composite +5.0% YTD
S&P 500 +3.2% YTD
Dow Jones Industrial Average +3.0% YTD

Market Volume:
NYSE Vol: 1.2 bln (A)
Nasdaq Vol: 6.4 bln (A)

New Swing Positions:

A mixed end to Monday’s session as the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed slight positive while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were negative.

With the Nasdaq having to contend with some selling yesterday, the tech sector was the biggest loser while energy was the biggest gainer.

All of the indices are currently dealing above their 50-day levels but watch for a breach of that zone to spark further weakness.

We may consider buying more in our Growth portfolio for long term positions if the opportunity arises.

Remember, this is historically a weak week. As I have always said, when there is nothing to do, do nothing.

Let’s go trade!
